It was extremely easy to replace this bulb. Makes my 55 inch WEGA look brand new with a vivid bright picture. I hope this bulb last 6 years like the first one did.

I HAD MY XL-2200 LAMP GO OUT AFTER 8 YEARS. ORDERED A NEW LAMP FROM SONY ON LINE, REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY HELPFUL ON LINE. INSTALLED THE NEW LAMP IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES, GREAT PICTURE AGAIN, JUST LIKE NEW. THE LAMP COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE CHEAPER.

First of all, I have nothing but good things to say about the performance of my original bulb. I bought my TV just before the Super Bowl in February 2005. I am now replacing the lamp in June 2011. Six great years!

I read the reviews of others looking for a XL2200 and took their advice to go right to Sony and buy their replacement. I ordered it on Monday got it on Friday and it works like a champ. It even came with the allen wrench needed to unbolt the lamp....

A brand new lamp makes my LCD purr like a brand new Cadillac. But they don't seem to last any time at all. This will be the fourth lamp in this set. And the unit is 4 years old. The original lamp lasted about 18 months, but the three subsequent lamps...

you have bought a great tv that was not cheap. do not buy a cheap replacement bulb. you will pay more for the sony bulb but it will last much much much longer and in the end it will be way cheaper. just read the horror stories out there. keep your sony...
