Would be OK if it would actually last. Great features - poor quality. For distant TV DXing, has a good worldwide tuner, but weak signal recordings will be very jumpy. Best to pipe video to another device for recording instead.

Will likely die on you. Mine died after 7 yrs, then again after 2 more yrs. The 2nd time I repaired it myself with $ 2 worth of parts. Replaced 5 electrolytic capacitors C31-C35. Power supply also causes interference to the tuner and nearby TV's

I found this universal VCR very good, it do the job very well, it converts PAL/NTSC tapes without error. I have it for 3 years now absolutly no problems, just regular maintennce (i.e. cleaning video heads).
