Works Perfectly!

Tested this on Windows XP and 7, 32-bit. Tried other brands/models and were not reliable / did not work. Highly recommend this one despite the additional $$.

Worked perfectly out of the box. No issues ; Support for Windows XP, Vista, 7, and OS X ; Drivers on disc actually worked as compared to other brands

Worth the cost

I previously bought an adapter from Prolific and it was garbage. Two different computers, three different USB cables, two different drivers and it wouldn't work. Prolific's support site pretty much tried to blame the USB cables.

Downloaded the driver and installed it without a hitch- Win7 Pro 64bit; Putty to router worked like it should. Definitely worth the cost based on my past experience with cheap USB-Serial adapters

Works great with MacBook Pro using ZOC or ZTerm. Drivers support the latest 64-bit OS X.

Good for Networking

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Jan 2012

The cable drivers automatically picked the first unused COM port (COM3 in my case). I set Secure CRT to use COM3 and I was up and running with physical connectivity to routers of various vendors.

Works with Cisco serial cable to access routers via console port. It's 6 feet long to better reach equipment, with female screw sockets to secure the two cables together. Easy installation in WinXP

The mini CD with drivers is tucked between the two pieces of cardboard within the cable's packaging and can be easily missed

Excellent - FTDI Chipset

  by VantageTech (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

If I were to nit pick something, it would be that there is no TX/RX LED's on this unit, which is nice for troubleshooting. My old adapter had status LED's, which I miss, but that's what I get for giving it away to a client.

Excellent product. Nice long cord length, and best of all, it uses the FTDI Chipset. If you are looking for a REAL USB to RS232 adapter, this is it. I work with many home automation, access control, and alarm systems which are VERY picky about which...

None really. If I were to nit pick something, it would be that there is no TX/RX LED's on this unit, which is nice for troubleshooting

Works great with Mettler Toledo Balance and Win7!

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Aug 2011

newegg.com

The other reviews mentioned a missing or easy to miss cd, but if you're using Windows 7 you don't even need it.

I was trying to connect one of our older model AG204 Mettler Toledo balances in our lab to a new Win7 (32 bit) machine. I first tried a Belkin USB to serial adapter, but the computer would not recognize the balance. After some researching on the...
