Rosewill RC-215 VIA PCI SATA 1.5G x2 / ATA 133 (IDE) x1 Controller Card

My old system had 2 PATA controller slots to support the 4 PATA CD/DVD drives I had installed. The new motherboard only had one PATA connector, so only two CD drives could be connected. Replaced the two unused drives with SATA drives (since one of the...

Both SATA ports work under Windows 7 32-bit. Did not need the PATA connection (yet) as the single PATA conector on the motherboard is all I need as this time

None. (Assuming it keeps working.)

BSoD Blue Screen GALORE!!

  by davidechen (newegg.com) - Mär 2012

Get a different SATA card not worth the time or headache.

Will give blue screens crashes on Windows 7 32/64 bit. Works fine with XP and latest drivers. On Windows 7 you might as well forget about it, its blue screen or a lag on shutdown even with the latest drivers, the stock drivers windows provides is...

Practically made for XP, Windows 7 good luck you are in for a headache

Hit BSoD on Windows Home Server 2011

Easy to setup

Unfortunately, I was always hitting bugcheck 0xd1 when I tried to copy a bunch of files into the share folder on RAID 1 drive. The issue happened with not only the in-box driver (vsmraid.sys) but the latest driver (viamrx64.sys). What I’ve found so far...

Nice card

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

Awesome card, its cheap, provides the extra sata ports I needed and it is working perfectly with my MSI motherboard, my Western Digital HDD, and my win7 x64 system. It also supports RAID which I haven't tried yet

The only cons I can think of is that there are only 2 sata ports. Other cards I've seen have 4 but they cost more. Also these sata ports are not as fast as the sata ports I currently have on my motherboard but they work well enough for the extra HDD's...

It works but SATA is comparatively slow

  by Wade (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

newegg.com

Like others have said, for your computer to "sense" the card you have to have a hard drive (supplied with power) plugged into it BEFORE you boot up. Also, if you have only molex power connectors (like in my system), you'll need to buy a molex to SATA...

It works. I used this card in a old Dell Optiplex GX470 (Pentium 2.8Ghz) with Windows XP along with a new 1.5TB Western Digital SATA HD

Performance of the SATA ports is comparatively slow even when compared to my old IDE drive using the Dell's IDE ports ; Also, I discovered that I already have two SATA ports on my Dell's motherboard and they seem about 40%-50% faster then the SATA on...

Slow read/write times w/ SATA drives

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Jan 2012

newegg.com

Not a good solution if you want to hook up SATA HDD's to it.

SATA & IDE connections Cheap

You get what you pay for. Connected to SATA ll drives to it and was getting around 6MB/sec read/write times. Tried changing the drives to SATA 150 and got around 3.8MB/sec read/write times. The drive that is connected via IDE cable gets around 45MB/sec...

Works Great

Don't install the drivers for the card if you are wanting to flash your Xbox 360 dvd drive. I hear that can create problems

I bought this so I could flash my Xbox 360. It worked perfectly no problems. Low price is good

none

Works great

  by LVBoatGuy (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

It just worked. I put in in a newer Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 Mother board and connected an older 200 MB ATA drive to the card. Booted Windows 7, and voila. It worked. The Mobo had no ATA connector, so I needed this extra card to get my old drive to work

It works; the ATA drive looks and acts happy

None that I can see
