Buy this bi-directional IDE to SATA converter instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186078

Works for connecting a SATA device to a motherboard that only has IDE

Card doesn't work for installing a fresh copy of Windows XP. I had to install Windows on an IDE hard drive and then install the drivers for the card from the CD. Then I had to clopy the contents of the IDE hard drive to the SATA hard drive with a Linux...

3tb drive support

I added this to a Dell Dimension 2350 with a 3tb external drive attached to the eSATA port. Upon bootup, Window 7 automatically installed the drivers and the drive was recognized. In Disk Manager, the wizard prompted for a Guid Partition Format, and a...

Works with old machines. 3tb drive support. Easy install

Only one internal port

Rosewill RC-210 Silicon Image Internal SATA / External eSATA Low Profile Ready PCI Controller Card

  by adem (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

It's old-school PCI, not PCI express.

Instantly recognized both by my motherboard (ASUS M4A89TD) and my Linux installation ; I was able to boot off an optical drive that was plugged into it, unlike with some cards that have RAID controllers ; The price is right ; Came with a low-profile...

Rosewill RC-210 Silicon Image Internal SATA / External eSATA Low Profile Ready PCI Controller Card

  by Olemountain (newegg.com) - Feb 2011

Bought the RC-210 to run a 2T Western Digital Caviar Green disk on an old (M7NCD Ultra) motherboard machine, running Kubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) Linux. Plugged it in, bolted it down, plugged the 2T drive cables in, turned the power on, and booted...

Works perfectly so far, running a 2T Caviar SATA disk on Kubuntu 10.10

Perfect for I need

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Feb 2011

I was using a converter kit to use an internal sata for esata. I needed to add another internal sata device and so I was looking for an inexpensive esata PCI card. I bought one that kind of worked but was very slow, averaged to about 15 MB/s. I bought...

Easy to install - put it in an empty PCI slot, close the case and it works ; Inexpensive - this is the lowest price card with an esata port that works as advertised ; Great performance - it is fast. Transferred 60 GB in about 10 minutes

Does the job

  by bc22 (newegg.com) - Jan 2011

Only SATA 1.5, but I knew that when I bought it and I didn't want to spend more the 15 bucks anyways! Works fine with my 2 TB SATA 3.0 drive even though I'm losing some transfer speeds, but for a HTPC (movies/music) I didn't need fast transfer speeds...

Does the job and works with my new install of my Ubuntu (Linux) HTPC system connected to a Samsung 2 TB drive. Ubuntu recognized the card with no problems at all ; Includes a low provide bracket for those smaller cases if needed

Wish it had more then one internal SATA connector

Card almost destroyed my computer!

  by Brian (newegg.com) - Dez 2010

newegg.com

The card didn't even last long enough to move a 4 gig video file

It arrived in a sealed box

I installed the card and Windows 7 x64 was bright enough to find the drivers after I popped in the cd. However, as soon as I began to transfer data through the card to my external drive, I began to hear a popping and crackling. Luckily, my computer has...
