Rosewill RC-200 PCI IDE (ATA) Silicon Image RAID (0/1/0+1/JBOD) Host Controller Card

I bought this just for fun because I had a bunch of old PATA drive in my closet. I have it in and old Athlon XP 1900+ and it running RAID 0 it uses 5-9% CPU.

It does what it is supposed to do

Would be nice if IDE ports were on top, facing vertical, not horizontal towards other expansion slots. I had to rearrange some cards so that this RAID card was the last in the expansion bays, so as to not interfere with other cards' space and cooling....

Free would have been nice. But who can complain at $20 shipped for a retail boxed RAID controller that will stretch the usability of your PATA drives

Works great. Easy set up. Allowed me to use two older 250gb hard drives with my new motherboard. Instructions were easy to use

Adds a couple of seconds to boot up time, but not a big deal because my computer is usually always on anyway

Not quite plug and play but install easy gave me an ide for a dell 2400 poweredge server. Using it to control a dvd rom .

Reasonably priced; lots of features; Win 7 compatible (for me it needs a driver)

Setting up raid was not straightforward due to master/slave settings on harddrives not properly recognized, hence the four star rating. Eventually found a combination of mater/slave for my three 160GB PATA drive to work stably in raid0

This card is one of the worst parts I have ever bought at Newegg.com and I would have thought that it would have been better considering that it was on Newegg...... First bad product offa here, and I've built several machines with parts I've gotten...
