Razer Onza Tournament Edition

  by Torsten Krieg (zockon.de) - Apr 2011

Razer Onza Xbox 360 controller - First Look review - Pocket-lint

  by Stuart Miles (pocket-lint.com) - Jan 2010

pocket-lint.com

Can this improve on the Microsoft offering?

Programmable buttons, ability to stiffen joysticks, rubberised coating, only available for Xbox 360

The additions of the extra buttons, the stiffening options, and the build quality means this is likely to be a must for any gamer who is more than just casual

First Look: Razer Onza Xbox 360 controller review

  by Stuart Miles (pocket-lint.com) - Jan 2010

pocket-lint.com

The Xbox 360 has been around for some time with gamers fairly happy with the performance of the included controllers. So what makes gaming peripheral maker, Razer, believe it has the answer with the Razer Onza? We got hands-on at CES in Las Vegas to...

Do you really need the extra buttons? Green LED looks chavvy

Razer Onza Tournament Edition review

  by Matt Hill (t3.com) - Sep 2011

Expensive, but customisation makes this a near-essential shooting controller

This is the best third party controller we've played on the Xbox 360. The analogue sticks are a revelation and with added customisation on offer and a much better grip, it's a definite experience upgrade on the standard controller. However, it's not...

Razer Onza Xbox Controller Offers Gripping Gameplay

  by Bryan Gardiner (wired.com) - Aug 2011

An undeniable value, the Onza TE is recommended whether you're a seasoned fragger or casual gamer.

Fantastic ergonomics and balanced heft. Mechanical switches under ABXY make for some great button mashing action. Super long 15-foot cable. PC compatible. Backlit buttons perfect for darkroom gaming. D-pad is divided into four distinct sections, giving...

Slightly awkward placement of remapped “start” and “back” buttons

Razer Onza Tournament Edition

  by (cnet.com) - Mär 2011

cnet.com

Ask any PC gamer about Razer accessories and the response will almost always be praise for the company's high-quality performance products. While Razer has previously remained strictly a manufacturer of PC components, 2011 is looking like a different...

The Razer Onza Tournament Edition is a high-quality third-party Xbox 360 controller with adjustable tension analog sticks, Hyperesponse light-up face buttons, two customizable extra shoulder buttons, and an extra-long braided 15-foot wire

The D-pad is a bit clumsy, especially for fans of fighting games. We don't love wired controllers, but there's no way around Microsoft's licensing

With its bevy of forward-thinking features and customization options, the Razer Onza Tournament Edition is easily one of the best third-party Xbox 360 controllers we've ever used.

Best gamepad

  by (consumersearch.com) - Okt 2011

These days, nearly all gamepads feature force feedback and the same number of buttons in roughly the same place, so it's hard to stand out from the crowd. The Razer Onza Tournament Edition takes an unusual path to distinction: rather than loading the...

Long, precise analog sticks with tension control, two extra, mappable shoulder buttons, backlit, responsive buttons, non-slip surface, relatively inexpensive

Some critics dislike the redesigned D-pad, no wireless option, several reports of malfunctioning units

If you live in a rather dust free environment, and cleans your controller constantly (i doubt anyone does), and can ensure that you'll never drop the controller, you should get it because it would improve your game. Guess I'll ditch this and go back to...

A proper FPS controller. Once you get used to the controller, it would definitely improve your game

Very unreliable ; Less then 6 months of use, only during weekends ; I'm on my 2nd set and its already giving up on me. The LT is very on/off and as a FPS controller, this hinders the ADS which spoilt my game way more than I think it should ; Also the...

When I preordered this product in March 2011, I was completely stoked. I ordered 2 and received a free hat. With all of the great PC gaming products and reviews from friends/coworkers, I was also looking to try out a new product for my business to sell...

Pros ; For the month that they worked, the controllers responded fast, felt great in my hand, clicked great

Cons ; HORRIBLE QUALITY! THEY BROKE AFTER A MONTH OF USE! REPLACEMENTS BREAK THE SAME WAY ; To be more specific: the poorly constructed joysticks fail and cause movement even when the controller is not being used

Great design and thought, but has constant problems

  by cmshivy (cnet.com) - Mär 2011

It has its bonuses but also its bad points.

Great design, The backlit hyper response buttons were a fantastic idea. The triggers although they took a while to get used to I consider much better than the normal triggers of the xbox control. The remapable buttons are good although i dont use them as

Breaks way too easy. I am on my second control in two weeks with the first having a fault when you tapped y it acted like a double tap. the second has real trouble when I hold down the left stick to sprint, and i do NOT have the tension up at ALL. Awkward

Feels great ; adjustable analog sticks are great, have heaps of different levels of adjustment ; all other buttons have less push distance, good for timing and accuracy ; Nice rubbery/plastic texture, nice for grip and playing for long periods of time ;

Too light, I like heavier controllers like the original Xbox ones, but that's just personal, and I'm getting used to it anyway

Great While It Lasted

  by Leonora (newegg.com) - Apr 2012

newegg.com

When in proper order I found this controller to be much better than the MS 360 controller, however given its price and how soon it went into that good night I can't recommend it. A real shame given my initial glee.

D-pad worked great ; Responsive analog sticks ; Lightweight but not cheap feeling

After a few months of light usage the left analog stick started drifting horizontally rendering it unusable

  by alohavikes (newegg.com) - Mär 2012

Don't buy it until they improve the quality of work.

Design and idea are awesome ; Response time and buttons are great ; MFB's create a new aspect to the game ; Backlight and rubberized design look cool

Breaks after a month of light use ; Tech support is not helpful at all ; Poorly designed

POOR and I do mean POOR build quality. I am now working on what will be my 4TH replacement. First one - massive headset echo, left analog stick died after a couple months. Second one - Right analog stick started to drift on my after a 3 months. Third...
