Radar Detector

I own the 8500 and bought the x50 for my fiancee and we just returned from a 1000 mile trip through some of the most tenacious states for radar traps and I have to say that the x50 was a great DISAPPOINTMENT especially for the hefty price tag....

As good as 8500, I love my 8500

No improvements over 8500 to justify high cost

FIRST DAY IT FOUND TWO INCIDENTS OF RADAR. I AM SURE IN AT LEAST ONE OF THEM I WOULD HAVE BEEN TICKETED. IT WAS A PLACE THE POLICE USUALLY SIT AND WAIT FOR SPEEDERS.

SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL

I would definately buy this product again. It is very good for the money and has outstanding detetction capabilities. you cannot go wrong with the Passport 8500.

i have this installed in an 85 nissan 720 pickup. 6 speeding tickets to my name. decided that i cant slow down so bought what i cant fix. seriously, best $250 spent. i was going 55 in a 25 university zone last week and Ka went off before i saw cop....

I have this for 2 weeks to replace my 3 years old Bel detector and it saved me twice from getting the ticket. Excellent in warning radar ahead, many times before I can even see the police car which is ideal since you can slow down before approach them....

The long range detection of this device is amazing. Vermont state troopers use instant-on K, and the Sheriffs use both instant-on and continuous Ka band. When I hear a little blip of either I know that I am picking up a officer sampling traffic up...

Effective against instant on K & Ka. Many modes. Mute button on power cord useful in vehicles where reaching the windshield isn't possible

Falses in city and near all supermarkets, minor issues with window mount in extremely cold weather otherwise very sturdy

I have only had this radar detector for about six days. Thus, I have not been able to use it to a great extent. So far it seems to work very well in picking up police radar. There are some false alarms, but that is expected.

I've had detectors for over 20 years now. The biggest challenge is having good detection capability but without lots of false alerts. Mind you, I don't 'fly' on the roads. I have one as a reminder to check my speed if it does go off. Nothing like...

Price. Uses a phone-type plug instead of the standard barrel type. A little 'long' compared to other detectors, but not obnoxious

I have the Blue unit linked to my ZR3 shifter and I have to say this combo works great.I wish it had directionals like the V1 but hey. All good detectors are worth the cost because if they save you from one ticket its paid for itself....
