C0 stepping to D0

  by dissturbbed (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

newegg.com

WoW what a difference it made in overclocking, I had a 920 C0 and no matter what i did i could get it above 3.6, this 960 D0 stepping made a huge difference in temperature and stability..overclocked to 4.3 without a hiccup tested with prime95 and cpuz...

Sweet CPU!

  by Dmartin95 (newegg.com) - Jan 2012

newegg.com

My only "other thoughts" are about AMD..... Why would anyone buy an AMD when Intel has such sweet chips out?

Great CPU! I'm not over clocking and my temps on stock air remain at 32* c idle and has maxed at 49* C under max load. This is well within tolerance and saves me the cost of having to buy an aftermarket cooler

Price??? That's about the only Con I can think of. I mean, with LGA 2011 here one would think it would drive the cost of these CPU's down

This processor is perfect if you have to fill an LGA 1366 socket and you want some serious processing power

I've got nothing bad to report about this processor, For the price, it's a great deal

Sandy gives you a Benchmark, this gives you a Machine.

  by JJGraphiX (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

newegg.com

The standard 1366 i7's are probably the most underrated, and overshadowed, best chips on the market for these prices. I bought this right when Gen.2 of sandybridge came out and like a lot of you, I struggled with this decision. Yes, clock for clock SB...

Extremely fast! Hyperthreading rips through multitasking ; Incredibly stable. The stock 3.2ghz is great but this chip breaks 4ghz without skipping a beat ; Triple-Channel memory is a great bonus if you're doing heavy multimedia work ; The same socket...

Stock Cooler could be better. Not an issue unless you plan to really OC it ; Wish the multiplier was completely unlocked. Minor gripe, this will not affect the average OC'r ; Can't say anything bad about the chip itself
