Bought this to replace an older Linksys router that died after many years of service. The Netgear WRN1000 was extremely easy to setup using the installation CD. It did all the work, I just clicked when prompted.
Extremely easy setup, parental controls

Purchased this one after problems with my previous router would not play well with my RCA cable modem. I went through two Linksys routers with the same result. I have been using the Netgear router for 6 months with zero issues

Everything is great except the fact it only has a 10/100 switch , not gigabit. So I wouldn't bother hard wiring into this thing. I just use it to add another network in the house SOHO. It works great for netflix and things like that. As far as gaming ,...
This is a great basic router. Easiest router I have ever set up. Nice easy to navigate GUI. Great range. CHEAP price
10/100 4 port switch. (Which I already knew about)

If you want a simple, easy to configure wireless G setup, this is the one. This was installed for a customer in a one bedroom apartment and is more than sufficient for their needs. It you want gigabit ethernet or wireless N, buy the higher end model.
Easy to configure, interface is simple. Price is very cheap
