Netgear's WNDR4500 N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router is the successor to the Netgear WNDR4000 N750 router that we reviewed a while ago. The new router is superior thanks to its dual support for the new 450Mbps standard on both the 2.4GHz and the...
The Netgear WNDR4500 N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router supports the new 450Mbps standard on both bands, and offers great range and excellent data rates on the 5GHz band. The router comes with the robust and easy-to-use Netgear Genie management...
The Netgear WNDR4500's 24.GHz wireless performance is subpar, and its USB storage performance could also use some improvement
The Netgear WNDR4500 N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router makes a very good investment for those who want to get the most out of a wireless network, especially when they have clients that support the 5GHz band.

Netgear‘s latest wireless router, the WNDR4500, promises to be the company's best yet. Packing simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz support, dual USB ports for NAS duty and printer sharing, gigabit ethernet and enough style to put most networking kit to shame,...
That’s a shame, since as an all-round package there’s a lot of appeal. $179.99 puts it at the premium end for home networking, but you’re getting a broad range of functionality for your money. In the end, though, it’s the great wireless performance...

We've changed our dual-stream test client and retested the WNDR4500.

Updated - We had mixed results with the NETGEAR WNDR4500's performance. But not all of it was the router's fault.
Revamped user interface ; Many new features including printer sharing
Fewer features than the WNDR3800
High performance dual-band, three-stream 802.11abgn router with bandwidth metering, external USB drive and printer sharing w/ UPnP AV / DLNA media server and completely new admin GUI.

Netgear har de siste månedene økt tempoet når det gjelder nye produkter til SOHO-segmentet (Small Office, Home Office).
Har for oss fungert svært stabilt. God ytelse. God funksjonalitet
Pris.

God ytelse. God funksjonalitet
Pris.

I ordered one of these units yesterday to replace an aging Netgear WNR2000 and a faulty Belkin Play N600 (which kept crashing, dropping the 5GHz signal, performing slowly etc). I was going to go with the Cisco E4200v2, but they're not available in this...
Very easy to set up ; Fast 'consistent' throughput ; Simultaneous 802.11g and 802.11n
Have only owned it for a few hours, so cannot say

Having a firmware issue on my router, called customer support. Asked me to pay to fix a 4 month old router! there warranty is only for hardware..
works for the first 3 months
Customer support is nill. 90 days warranty and even if its a there problem you have to pay for support.. call centers dont know how to talk to customers. I would never recommend netgear again

Jury is still out...if they can tweak the 5GHZ range via a firmware upgrade and fix the 5GHZ connectivity issues then I'll be a satisfied customer. Updated on Sep 23, 2011
Intuitive interface ; Extremely easy to set up ; bells and whistles like traffic meter and info like who is using what G channel ; definitely faster on G band with 450Mbps horsepower than my E4200
My laptop has an Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN (5GHZ) and I'm having a heckuva time getting a connection to the router. I've done it, but it takes multiple reboots of the laptop, router, and modem to get it to stick. I can get on the 2.4GHZ band no problem

Lets see how long this one can go before it burns out. my N600 lasted 6 months.
Easy set up. Streamed 2 blurays and playing black ops and no lag. Runs well wen band with is maxed out

I purchased this on 11/13/2011. Installation was a breeze! I guess that's a good thing. However, here are the issues I had: 1. Wireless quality was spotty at best. Connection speeds were great for the first 2 - 3 hours, then they would honestly be...
Installation and Setup was easy
Wireless connectivity was spotty and slow ; Ready Share doesn't work very well, and it seems like it was causing my computer to crash

to the review below that doesn't even own this router or did not buy it from newegg, if your having slow speeds your doing something wrong or your router defective, try having it fixed under warranty that's what warranties are for. Guess cause he or...

Better radio penetration than the linksys units replaced.
Works. Just works. I have a lot less interference on the 5Ghz band
The standup plastic thing is tough to remove if you plan to use on its side

I've owned the WNDR3700 for a couple years and it's been wonderful. Honestly I had no need to upgrade but a friend was looking to buy a 3700 so I sold him mine for cheap as an excuse to upgrade to this. No complaints whatsoever, it's the same only...
Consistently high performance. Streaming HD video content from a media center to multiple consoles and PC's on the network without any hiccups ; Excellent wireless signal strength ; Multitude of operating modes allows for using this in many different...
My WNDR3700 had a removable stand which allowed for more flexibility in placing the device. The stand on this model does not appear to be removable ; I have a Netgear gigabit switch which has LED indicators on the RJ45 ports showing whether the cable...

I've foudn this to be an easy router to set up and use, had no issues with drops, strong signal and good range. Its easily handled 4 laptops, 3 xbox's, 3 smartphones, and wireless printer without issue. I've been thoroughly impressed.
Easy set up, easy management, great range, no drops, strong signal for two story house, many features (usb printer, storage connections)
Pricey but still worth it

For those who like to look around the advanced settings, take note, you can disable your WiFi devices completely until you reset the router settings. Just take note, you will need to be wired to the router to make changes if you do.
Took only minutes to set up and the Netgear Genie software is flawlessly made. Easy to understand and see who's using the wifi. Even allows you to modify descriptions of each device so you know eggactly what is connected. If you play games like WoW or...
None, right out of the box to the desk, easy setup and easy to configure. Plug in the wired devices and/or WiFi devices and that's it. Nothing bad about this Netgear product
