Ok Cooler - Silent

  by kramerdk (newegg.com) - Apr 2012

The HSF just cannot keep up with the TDP on the warmer processors. I removed the HSF and installed a Gemini S524 and the processor does not go above 38c @ 100%. If you're running a lower TDP processor - AMD A4 or A6 - this would be sufficient assuming...

Pretty much all I can say is this cooler is quite. Does its job of keeping the processor at idle and low use cool. Standard clip installation was easy if you know what you're doing and have the right tools (small flat-head screwdriver) ; The cooler...

Doesn't cool well with serious use. I have an AMD Phenom 960T (stock) and installed the cooler - idles around 26-27c and with 25% usage sits at 35c. Running Prime95 the CPU easily hits 68-70c. I would definitely not recommend if you plan to use the...

Works Great!!

Purchased yesterday. Working great so far. Temps staying around 30 C. Not a serious gamer, so not sure what temps would be under high loads. Very quiet. Pain in the behind to install though if following the instructions - lol. If you look at the...

Never Mistake Looks For Functionality

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

I bought this with the intention of using it in my new HTPC build. It was well packed, love the aluminum case it packed in. I like the overall look and it has a big fan. On the downside this thing couldn't keep my AMD A4 APU under 40c on idle. When I...

Looks cool ; Quiet

A pain to install ; Bigger pain to remove ; Could not keep an AMD A4 under 44c on idle (stock no OC) ; Feels cheap

Silent

This was a nice affordable solution for quiet cooling.

I've now purchased two of these for their low noise to replace the OEM coolers. Not very tall so it fits well. Didn't use the cooling compound it came with, used arctic silver instead. Came in a sweet tin I now use for parts

For the AM2/3 socket its kind of difficult to get it on there, but no worse than most other coolers

Does it job quietly.

Make sure that you are buying this fan/heatsink for a CPU rated at 95w and lower.

It's cheap and effective! Its completely silient when compared to the jet engine that AMD shipped with my Phenom II X4. Allowed me to overclock my CPU to 3.4ghz before temperature became an issue

Not really a major issue but the MC106 can only effectively cool CPUs rated at 95w and lower. Its not clearly listed on newegg, only on the Logisys website

Perfect for an HTPC

  by dockwej (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

QX6800 CPU, Quad core 2.93 GHz, is running at around 43C with this cooler. You can't hear the fan at all with the case cover on. This is an HTPC, which will never have a heavy CPU load on it, so noise level is very important. This cooler is perfect.

Very, very quiet

You have to apply some real force with your fingers to get the clips to hold the cooler to the bracket, so be careful
