Works okay

Bought this for a new build. Like others I also bought the Koutech PCI-e adapter card so I wouldn't have to hook the card reader to my precious external USB 3.0 ports. Then I stupidly realized that my new video card, which hogs two expansion slots,...

Installs easily, Windows 7 handled it fine without having to install any other drivers/software, fast

Crashes Win 7 Ultimate

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

newegg.com

After reinstalled my OS from the first crash, I mistaking left it plugged in after I used it to back up some files and it crashed my OS again when the system rebooted. Grrrr.. After spending several hours trying different recovery methods I ended up...

Very fast read/ write times when I use it

Anytime the unit is left plugged in to my USB 3.0 port it won't let my system boot. Even after it was removed my system still failed to recover and I had to restore my OS from my WHS to get it back. Even after disabling the USB ports and boot option...

Very happy!

The fastest card I have is a UDMA CF that is rated for 90 MBps - this reader does deliver that! I have used the SD and USB 3 pass through ports and they work fine too. I did have to buy a 3.5 to 5.25 inch mounting bracket.

Very fast, looks good, has all the ports I need

Not to Bad

Fits nicely in Antec Cases

handles all card types USB 3.0

TWO external USB 3.0 Cables that you have to connect to the back of your Motherboard...would be better if it only had one so you only take up one USB 3.0

Odd little thing

Paired with Koutech PCIe to USB3 card (IO-PEU232)that had two internal ports. Keeps the whole install clean. Used Silverstone FP55B converter for a smooth fit into 5.25

USB 3.0 male ends, since many boards presently do not have headers. Seems pretty solid-my wife does not have any finesse when inserting her CF cards and it appears to withstand her. FAST! At least 4x faster than USB 2.0 card reader

USB 3.0 slot is upside down. When I installed the IconMan (or whatever) software, My DVD ROM icon disappeared but is still in device manager- still looking into this

Great card!

With so many card readers that add MORE usb2 to the front panel, when most cases already account for that, this card with the USB 3.0 is a great way to go. My mobo has USB 3 in the back, Storm Scout case has NO USB 3 in the front.... this was the...

Reads more than enough variety of cards for what I need. LOVE the USB 3.0 port on the front. It was perfect for my build

bad for CF

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Dez 2011

works fast and great

pins for the CF slot bend very easily, even though I took precautions as usual to insert the card carefully. you may not even realize you have a bent pin, cards will often be recognized and even download, but then you may have corrupt files. the...

Oh-La-La

The only slot I use on the card reader is the CF slot - wish I could disable the other slots so that the drive letters were available for other drives (yes I have that many drives). The cables are a bit short for my case but I have a monster of a case...

Card reader reads at USB 3.0 speeds ; As a photographer I'm constantly downloading CF cards to the PC and when I built the new PC I wanted a USB 3.0 solution to read CF cards. This reader, when connected to a USB 3.0 port is fast ; If you don't want...

USB 3 is Very Good

  by Murphy (newegg.com) - Okt 2011

My USB 3 Ports are on the back, lucky I had put the card reader at top of case as there is just enough cabling. You will be able to move data a lot faster as long as your card is fast

Koutech Tech Rep was GREAT

  by sloguy (newegg.com) - Okt 2011

The card reader was automatically recognized by my pc. However, the only time when using My Computer I would see an inserted card into one of the slots was when the card was inserted PRIOR to booting the pc. If I then removed the card and reinserted it...

Works well after resolving problems with my newly built ASUS P8P67 Deluxe pc (see "other thoughts" below). I bought this mainly because of the reader using USB 3.0 and also it's USB 3.0 plug-in port on the front panel. I would have preferred that the...

Have only used the SDHC and MicroSDHC ports. Found the SDHC port to be difficult to insert the card into. So far, this is the only deficiency I have found. Works great otherwise. I'm very pleased with my purchase
