I have this connected to a StarTech USB 3.0 Enclosure, with a SATA II connection to a 1Tb 32mb cache harddrive. I'm unsure if this reduced speed is caused by the hard drive in my notebook, even though it is a 7200rpm 16mb cache drive.

Without the provided power cable plugged in, the transfer speeds won't go any faster than USB 2.0. With it plugged in, the speeds will only get about 2.5x faster. Around 65-70Mb/s tops ; No real drivers to install. Provided cd is hardly enough

Needs second USB for power...nature of the beast due to USB3 specs....very tight connectors had to really shove the cable in and since its a spring loaded slot had to take card out to install cable. Not an issue just an observation

I called tech support and they told me that it was a miss label on the packaging and that there are no plans to make the device mac compatible in the future
