"I purchased this and Jumpstart 1st grade as we had purchased these when my eldest was this age and she loved it, but it wasn't compatible with Vista. And while all 3 kids do LOVE the games, the membership is NOT optional..... There are 12 units/badges...
All my children love the games
The box say "optional membership", but you only get 2 levels before you must purchase the membership to play games

"Runs on PC, but ad says Mac also. Won't run on current versions of 10.5 or 10.6. Nowhere is this noted. Also requires an expensive subscription to advance beyond beginning levels.
