HP ProLiant MicroServer im Test

  by Chris George (itespresso.de) - Mär 2011

HP Proliant MicroServer

  by (pcmag.com)

The server I received for testing has 2GB memory and two 160 GB SATA drives, but it supports up to 8GB of memory and 8TB of capacity. There's also a DVD-RW. There are four drive bays enclosed; the drive housing and hinge to remove is made of rather...

Quiet, small form-factor can fit in any office. Easy RAID setup and drive expansion. No excess management software. Affordable

Not a powerful performer. Drive trays flimsy

The ProLiant MicroServer is an option for small and micro businesses that need no more than a file and print server.

HP is taking interest in servers for small businesses, with this attractively priced ProLiant

Low on processing power and tricky to upgrade, but a good-value first server for small businesses

REVIEW: HP ProLiant MicroServer

  by (businesscomputingworld.co.uk)

businesscomputingworld.co.uk

The term server tends to conjure up images of large and imposing rack-mount boxes costing thousands of pounds, stuffed full of processors, memory and hard...

Although it clearly addresses a gap in the market, there’s nothing special about the ProLiant MicroServer and the majority of small business buyers will end up spending a lot more than the headline-grabbing base price to get what they need. Seemingly...

HP ProLiant MicroServer

  by Redactie ZDNet (zdnet.be) - Apr 2011

by Martin Agfors (pcforalla) - Jun 2011

HP ProLiant MicroServer

I cannot say enough about this server. I ordered it online from HP's website directly. I added accessories - the 2x4GB RAM chips, the DVD burner, and the 5-year care pack, and was out the door for $1100. On my own, I added two 2TB Western Digital Green...

Brilliant bit of ki for the money

I got one of these a few days from eBuyer in order to replace my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo. I must say, i'm not dissapointed. Even though i'm no Linux expert, a friend talked me through the setup and now have it running in software RAID10 with 4x2TB drives...

Great little server

Got this to run as a NAS using FreeBSD 8.2 and ZFS RAIDZ. I've added 5 x 2TB drives (using the optical bay and not esata as that's SATA I only I believe) and have been soak testing it and it performs very well considering the laptop sized Athlon cpu

Fantastic Home Server

If Ebuyer ever get these in stock get one, (I had to get mine elsewhere back in October when it was only £50 cash-back) With the £100 cash-back it must feel like you have pulled a fast one over HP.

Well done, HP!

HP have gone and done it again, made a superb little product. The build quality is completed to a high standard, the plastic feels nice and sturdy and the internal casing is even sturdier.

I have 3 of these and they are great little boxes. They aren't the fastest but they seem pretty snappy with Windows 2008 on.
