This card is simple to install and has saved my bacon on 2 occassions. I have 3 of these in production, and they have never let me down. I would reccomend using the hot-spare option as the rebuild can be time consuming.

First off, I want to say nevermind Bjorn's comments about this card. Some very basic how-to knowledge for installing drivers on Windows XP, and your in business. This RAID controller is absolutely excellent. I have 5 in service at present. They are all...

The RAID 5 enabled BIOS has severe write performance hit. It writes at a speed of 3MB/s with that's even lower than the LAN. And that's with a 3-drive RAID 5 setup. All drives are 8MB cache version of WD 80GB ones. HighPoint tech support acknowledged...

A RAID 5 option is now available as of this writing by simply updating the BIOS. The new BIOS (rev. 3.01) can be DL'd from the HighPoint website. No problems for a month now in a RAID 1/0 configuration. And, of course, Newegg's customer service is hard...
