FileMaker Pro 11

Award: Empfehlung der Redaktion!

Database design and management can be complex, but there are several database applications that facilitate easy setup and administration. Although these products differ in feature set and user interfaces, there are five key components that comprise a...

Powerful, sophisticated new features. Makes it easy to graphically represent data. More streamlined performance. Tighter Web integration

Charting features confusing on initial use

FileMaker Pro 11 isn't a drastic overhaul of FileMaker Pro 10, so users won't have much relearning to do. But version 11 is still a big enough enhancement, packing enough new features, that it's well worth buying.

FileMaker Pro 11 review

  by Sharon Machlis, (pcadvisor.co.uk) - Mär 2010

pcadvisor.co.uk

FileMaker Pro 11, the latest update of the venerable database software, improves on version 10 with several more features such as charting, "recurring import" to automatically update a database from an Excel or text file and a "Quick Find" search box.

We found FileMaker Pro 11 to be a useful platform for database work. However, despite ease-of-use claims, this is not a trivial application for new users to learn (there's a reason why FileMaker sells a 12-module training program with a 700-page...

The big book for FileMaker Pro 11 : FileMaker Pro 11: the missing manual

  by adrianmorant (gadgetspeak.com) - Aug 2010

gadgetspeak.com

FileMaker Pro 11: the missing manual – “the book that should have been in the box” is about 900 pages long and, had it been supplied with the program, would have needed a quite large box. It will meet the needs of both the novice and the experienced...

FileMaker Pro 11 is the latest version of a database program that has evolved over the years and is now an extremely versatile and sophisticated program. It is relatively straightforward to get started and yet has the advanced features to meet...

This is a program that I have known for many years. I think it was version two that I first used. Due to a change of agencies the previous version I reviewed (and in fact still use) was version 6. Now I am looking at version 11.

So there are numerous changes (including file type extensions) but on trying to open one of my much used databases it was only a case of renaming the file with an old extension and the new version had the required extension and opened with no problems...

Review - FileMaker Pro 11

  by Gary Coyne (applelinks.com) - Jun 2010

FileMaker is back with another stellar update to its flagship product, FileMaker Pro. I always enjoy seeing what direction each update leads to; sometimes the updates are more for those who create the databases, and sometimes the updates are for the...

On the plus side you've got everything I've mentioned in this review plus a few others that I just didn't take the time to elaborate on. Simply, any time you consider an update to some software you already own, the question has to be asked: is the...

FileMaker Pro continues to develop – steadily and incrementally. A year after the release of version 10 comes FileMaker Pro 11. It has a more robust feel to it than previous versions; it's more streamlined and friendlier than ever to the user. Since...

Review: Filemaker Pro 11

  by (v3.co.uk) - Apr 2010

v3.co.uk

Database software gets its own built-in charts plus plenty of other tasty new features

Charting capability; cross-platform support; good set of predefined templates; new Quick Reports and Recurring Imports are great additions

Inspector toolbar useful but too small on high-resolution screens; no highlighting of hits in Quick Search; chart options may be too basic for some

A very worthwhile new release for this venerable database application, particularly for newcomers to the world of relational databases. The new charting capabilities alone may be enough to convince some existing users to upgrade, although there are...

Review: FileMaker Pro 11

New tools and enhancements work well in this FileMaker update.

Layout Inspector makes database creation easier ; Can create counts from Table View ; Easy to sort and add records or fields in Table View ; Cross-platform ; PPC compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.7

Chart tool isn’t intuitive and has some minor bugs ; Text still doesn’t paste in the correct font ; Expensive update

FileMaker Pro 11 adds a number of features to simplify database creation and edit existing databases. Other enhancements are an improved Layout/Report Assistant, Recurring Imports, a layout tool Inspector, a Quick Find field, Quick Reports, chart...

Review: FileMaker Pro 11 and FileMaker Pro Advanced 11

  by William Porter (macworld.com) - Mär 2010

A year after the release of the FileMaker 10 database program, version 11 has arrived, with new tools and great new features that make it even easier to use.

For the uninitiated, the the database half of FileMaker family consists of FileMaker Pro and its big brother, FileMaker Pro Advanced. FileMaker Pro Advanced has a few utility features that matter to full-time database developers: a debugger, a database...

I have used Filemaker for over 6 years. I recently upgraded and even though I had not purchased an upgrade for a long time it was a seamless transition to keep right on working. It is easy to use and just right for me.

Good Update

  by ibdtb (newegg.com) - Apr 2010

newegg.com

A nice upgrade to an already powerful and easy-to-use product. This product really sits on a sweat spot...way more powerful than excel, but way less complex than SQL databases. It's a great tool for rapid application development.

Easy to add a variety of charts to screens and reports, reports are attractive and easy to modify, snapshot link is great way to send co-workers your views of a database, Some nice developer enhancements like the new inspector for setting object...

Not many...the create fields from table view is too easy to create fields by accident. Hope they're bringing more advanced charts eventually
