EVGA Z68 FTW review

  by (expertreviews.co.uk) - Mai 2012

expertreviews.co.uk

EVGA's Z68 FTW is an LGA1155 motherboard aimed exclusively at overclockers and enthusiasts. It has all the features you'd expect from a high-end board, as well as several more that you probably didn't even know you needed.

An almost limitless feature set, but other motherboards present better value for money for non-overclockers

I like it

There is a different BIOS update that windows didn't pick up had to get on EVGA site i believe. Im not a professional builder at all more of a newbie in training. Still in process of building rig need aftermarket heat sink will probably resolve turbo...

This is the board of choice for my first Successful rig build ; Installation was challenging But very easy to install. ( more nerve racking due to static charges but being grounded to the case takes that out the worry list) ; Runs very well, I do like...

Heatsinks on mobo are pretty close to processor, granted i see the design it looks like its suppose to direct heat away from processor but when its underload that entire section gets hot ; Has a lot of usb ports, not complaining just trying to figure...

Does the Basic Job and More*

  by CMA (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

I have had great experiences with EVGA; hopefully this will work out.

Excellent build, capacitors weren't horrendous like the last m-atx I bought (not an EVGA board), and has enough space to fit dual two slot video cards in tandem ; see cons for asterisk

I took off 1 egg due to the issue I've been battling with tech support for a week now with the onboard audio not working properly; I've contacted support and told them all the steps I took to fix the problem and I have been asked redundant questions...

Bomb Diggity

Minus 2 eggs for the cons but plus 3 for the customer support. Grand total of 6 eggs. @Dicky the 2x8 thing concerned me before I bought it. Guys at Tom's Hardware and EVGA forums said it made no difference. I see no changes with my EVGA GTX 560 TI DS...

EVGA Support is the absolute best. I've called them about ten times now and haven't been on hold once and only talked to English speaking guys with American accents ; lots and lots of USB ports ; sleak look and design ; easy, well laid out BIOS with...

circus of lights on the board. I've got a mesh case and wasn't going for that ; inevitable "No Hard disk is Detected" after splash unless eSATA port is either disabled in the BIOS or connected. (Apparently pretty common with Z68 boards that eSATA...

Good board, but sending it back.

  by Dicky (newegg.com) - Feb 2012

If your booting from a USB stick, you HAVE to use FAT32 format. This may not be a huge issue for some, but it took me a solid hour and a phone conversation to figure this out. I switched to this board from the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR 4 board. The bios is...

Great looking board with a lot of great options. Plenty of fan headers, and the Z68 chipset. Nice looking bios filled with plenty of features

2 8x slots ; Really ; They don't even have a single 16x slot for running a single card, and while this may not make a huge difference for some cards, when the bandwidth hungry 6xx series from Nvidia drops, your gonna want to have as much bandwidth on...

Great Board

good board bad customer service to get rebate notice how i'm not rating the item bad just because the customer service is bad. The eggs are for the ITEM!!!

Love this board completely. All around easy to use and set up. No problems for me at all

Only con is that evga will not honor my rebate. Their website would not let me choose when I bought the board and so i had to choose one of the dates THEY had in their drop down menu. So now i'm out $30 plus all the extra money i sent on mailing and...

Works as it should, not experiencing any problems. POST beep is nice and loud. Good sound quality (integrated audio) Many PCI-E slots

I dont know if it's the motherboard or the CPU but it doesn't seem to register in CPU-Z or ELEET that EIST or C1E Support is enabled or disabled

Board Rocks

  by Aleks k. (newegg.com) - Okt 2011

Should of bought this board first instead of going with all the hassle with Gigabyte Z68-UD7, board would not even post. was stuck in a infiniate loop. When Contacted support took them 3 days to respond by email with a copy paste response.

Posted on the first try ; Black IO Shield to match the back of my case ; Multiple Bioses - you can have different configurations one each. like one for OCing one for regular use etc ; Board came in a sealed anti static bag ; You can enable disabled all...

Rebate

This board has a mail-in-rebate. Click on the "Manufacturer's Product Page" link to find it. Newegg usually is aware of these things, but does not appear to be in this case. The manufacturer's website lists a 3 year warranty but, in general, EVGA...
