Test: Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless

  by Janis Berneker (pctipp.ch) - Mär 2011

pctipp.ch

Schönheit ist nicht die Stärke von Routern. Anders der E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router von Linksys: Er zeichnet sich durch ein schickes Design aus. Aber auch die inneren Werte überzeugen.

Preis, Geschwindigkeit, Reichweite, Ausstattung

Der Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router ist intuitiv und bietet alle nötigen Funktionen – und das zu einem guten Preis.

Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless N router

  by Elias Plastiras (goodgearguide.com.au) - Nov 2010

The Linksys E2000 is a reasonably priced Wi-Fi router with excellent features. For its $170 price, you get a 300Mbps 802.11n dual-band wireless access...

Inexpensive dual-band wireless router, Gigabit Ethernet switch, fast wireless performance, very reliable in our tests, Wi-Fi security enabled by default

5Ghz performance was slightly slower than expected from mid-range distance, setup using Cisco Connect took a little too long, LEDs too bright, no keyword filtering

For only $170, the Linksys E2000 offers pretty good value. It can run in either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless networking bands (but not both simultaneously), it has a Gigabit Ethernet switch and all the other regular features one can expect in a wireless...

Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless N Router review

  by Elias Plastiras, (pcadvisor.co.uk) - Nov 2010

The Linksys E2000 is an affordable Wi-Fi router with excellent features. The best part is that it's very reliable and fast.

In addition to dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit ethernet, the Linksys E2000 has all the features you'd expect of a modern wireless router: a built-in firewall, QoS, port-forwarding, DynamicDNS support and VPN passthrough support. It performed very well in...

Cisco Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router

  by Samara Lynn (pcmag.com) - Jun 2010

This router's best assets are its ease of setup and throughput at the 5 GHz band. It's best for those wanting to cover smaller spaces, however, as its long-distance performance isn't stellar.

Very fast setup. Great 5 GHz throughput. Decent 2.4-GHz throughput. Simple setup great for newbies

Some performance degradation with use. Throughput drops off quickly with distance

Another Wireless-N Router : Cisco Linksys E2000

  by mfereday (gadgetspeak.com) - Mai 2011

Combining functionality with stylish appearance is becoming increasingly important as computer set-ups are often to be found in the living rooms of many users. One product following this concept is a router from Linksys.

While missing some of the features of the Linksys E3000 (USB connectivity and simultaneously dual bandwidth), the Linksys E2000 is an attractive piece of kit that should suit many home network scenarios. I encountered no problems with this Wireless-N...

Review: CISCO LINKSYS E2000

  by (pcauthority.com.au)

pcauthority.com.au

An affordable router that's sadly lacking in some key areas.

There is a catch, however. Unlike the Edimax, this router isn’t capable of hosting concurrent 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks; instead, you have to choose between one or the other. So, if you want both 2.4GHz and 5GHz support you’ll have to buy...

Over priced Box!!!

  by david_e_moore (cnet.com) - Aug 2011

cnet.com

I did get it to work, BUT, I still cannot get into the actual router and make configurations. I really like Cisco, but this was a MAJOR LET DOWN!!!! Updated on Aug 20, 2011

No issues with dropped connections ; Looks nice

1. Cisco puts 1 disk, no printed documentation and does not give much direction on how customer is to really use it ; 2. I tried dozens of times to to get the CD software to work, no go. Spent hours trying different things. Cannot open the web interface

Easy setup, but limits you to 2 favorite DDNS providers

  by jimcarrollnc (cnet.com) - Jul 2011

Evidently Cisco is in bed with DynDNS.com and TZO.com, 2 providers of DDNS service. That's the service you need for setting up a home website with dynamic IP address. Other vendors offer free services for custom website names, but those two charge from...

DON'T BUY IT. Stay away from this router, don't do what I've done (I read the reviews, and didn't pay attention) Updated on Jun 13, 2011

Beautiful design

Using a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.6.7, after 3 hours couldn't connect. The setup is useless, the customer service, with which I've spent 2.5 hours, was not knowledgeable and didn't know about Apple Computers, but they did offer me to connect to my laptop and tr

Available at Walmart ; Nifty networks names

When it loses a connection and cannot clean up its own mess, it blames it out the modem. And then recommends a four minute process to 'reset' the connection

Good WLAN but limits connection speed.

The above issue makes this router more or less useless. Please notice that I had it replaced, but the replacement has the same issue. I have also tried upgrading to the latest firmware from Linksys, but that didn't solve it. I also installed a...

Great looks, doesn't run overly hot, wireless works great (I have a good solid connection in my neighbors house 100+ feet away), easy to set up, easy to customize

A hardware issue limits the speed of single connections to about 1Mbit/s or less (gets worse over time, goes back to about 1Mbit/s after a reboot). If I use a download accellerator or torrents I get what my line allows, 6-8 Mbit/s downstream
