Seems to do a fine job, although I haven't done much recording on the VCR side yet. Replaced a still-working Sony that had horrible sound recording/playback, and I got sick of Sony's lack of usability, tiny rows of tiny identical black-on-black buttons...

I didn't realize that a tunerless recorder was nothing more than a playback machine (and not a very good one at that). The DVR playback is noisy and at times breaks the picture down to it's pixels. Toshiba has seen better times.

The only thing I find wrong with this item is that is a bit noisy when rewinding, and gives a strong noise when it stops.

Be sure to get a RF modulator if you have an older tv. I couldn't use this until I got one. Know that the cable jack is the slip over type, not the screw on type.

This products VHS Player did not perform well at all with the inadequate cable wires provided and my husband was so frustrated he was wanting me to send it back. But after reading instructions, I went to the store to purchase additional Video Cables...

This machine was a breeze to set up and works very well as to video and sound reproduction. I highly recommend it for quality and value.

Took only 5 min to install. Good Picture and Sound from VCR and DVD.I would recommend this as a replacement for your old vcr.
