Crucial Ballistix 6GB DDR3 2133 MHz RAM Triple Channel Kit Review

  by Chris Swertfeger (techwarelabs.com) - Dez 2011

techwarelabs.com

A good way to get the most out of your high performance computer is with some high end overclocking RAM. The price of DDR3 has fallen rapidly lately, making it much more affordable to populate all of your RAM slots. For some people 1800 MHz isn't fast...

Using CPU-Z we can see the timings of the RAM (9-10-9-28) as well as the current frequency. In the CPU tab we can also see that we had to overclock the CPU from its base frequency of 2.67 GHz

The Crucial Ballistix Smart Tracer 6GB PC3-12800 kit has a small premium added for the extra functionality over the older kit. The kit is available from Crucial for less than $140 which is okay for a 6GB triple-channel kit. For the case modders still...

Bad stick was causing fatal error and prevented workstation from booting. Giving low rating because I can buy ram from lots of folks. The least I ask is that it work more than a week.

Works fine when it's working

1 out of 12 sticks was a failure upon purchase. Newegg is sending me replacement
