Blue Microphones Yeti review

  by Letitia Austin (pcadvisor.co.uk) - Jul 2011

pcadvisor.co.uk

The Blue Microphones Yeti is a desktop USB microphone for recording voices and instruments.

The Blue Microphones Yeti lacks the connection necessary for studio use with a mixing desk, but for recording podcasts and interviews straight to PC the Blue Microphones Yeti could be ideal. It's solidly built and offers decent performance.

Award: Kauftipp!

In the professional audio world, Blue Microphones is probably best known for the Bottle condenser microphone, which costs thousands of pounds, and the Baby Bottle, which merely costs several hundred. The Yeti USB microphone is one of several recent...

The Yeti's sensitivity and recording quality make it well worth its cost to any serious podcaster.

Geeky Podcasting Mike Avidly Absorbs Audio

  by Mario Aguilar (wired.com) - Nov 2009

The world's first THX-certified mike is also one of the best podcasting recorders we've ever spoken sweet nothings to.

Sharp, clear recording in all four settings. Stereo setting yields dizzingly dynamic results for podcasting. Bidirectional setting yields audio more intimate than an afternoon in Victoria's Secret

Gain, headphone volume, and pattern-select switches on the mike’s body are awkwardly placed — makes them hard to get at when the mike's in its stand. Using hefty mike for field work probably not a wise idea

Review: Blue Microphones Yeti

  by Christopher Breen (macworld.com) - Jun 2010

One of the bulkiest USB microphones you'll find, the Yeti delivers good sound and a lot of versatility for the price.

Versatility comes in the form of a four-position pattern switch, gain control, headphone port, headphone volume control, and mute switch. The pattern switch is one of the features Blue touts specifically, so it’s worth a closer look

The Yeti has a built-in headphone amplifier for zero-latency monitoring and controls for pattern selection, headphone volume, mute and microphone gain. It's also THX certified

If you need a versatile microphone for regular studio or desktop use, the Yeti is ideal

While at CES this year I had the opportunity to spend some time at the Blue Microphones booth.  One of the products which really “wowed” me during demo time was their “Yeti” microphone. The Yeti is being touted as the world's first THX certified...

Due to the high quality of the capsules and the built in electronics, this is one of the better voice over mics, as well as a great choice for recording live music. Simple, sturdy and directly plugging into your USB, it couldn't be any easier.

I know atleast two of my friend have bought one, and Another is on the fence about it, he has the Snowball. Would suggest to anybody looking for a good microphone.

This is an amazing Microphone. It picks up everything! I use it on skype and people can hear me tap the wall a good five feet away

Picks up Everything! to the point that I have to wait for no one to be home, there air is not on, and I am just sittng on the floor to avoid making sound when tring to voice work. (not really a con)
