Billion Wireless-N ADSL2+ Firewall Router (BiPAC 7700N)

  by Elias Plastiras (goodgearguide.com.au) - Apr 2011

goodgearguide.com.au

The BiPAC 7700N is a tiny ADSL2+ modem and router that is almost the antithesis of all-in-one routers such as the [[artnid:389481|Fritz!Box 7390]], bu...

Small size ; 300Mbps Wi-Fi ; Good value

Auto ADSL detection does take a while

For around $70, the Billion BiPAC 7700N represents excellent value for money. It's a tiny unit that houses an ADSL2+ modem, a 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch and an 802.11n (300Mbps) Wi-Fi access point. It performed well, and reliably, in our tests and...

Billion BiPAC 7300GX

  by Elias Plastiras (goodgearguide.com.au) - Jan 2008

goodgearguide.com.au

More than a stay-at-home ADSL router, Billion's 7300GX can be liberated from the confines of a home or office environment thanks to its support for 3G...

Produced excellent results in our speed tests, can distribute an Internet connection from a 3G PC Card, has good filtering and security options

Doesn't have 802.11 draft-n capability, doesn't have MIMO antennas

A PC Card slot allows this ADSL modem/router to double as a 3G modem/router. It performed very well in our tests and ships with a car kit, which, in effect, can turn your car into a mobile hotspot.

Billion BiPAC 7700N

  by Craig Simms (cnet.com.au) - Okt 2011

cnet.com.au

Amazingly cheap for what it does ; Good wireless performance

Smaller NAT table means it might find some torrents taxing ; No progress bar during firmware update

Billion's BiPAC 7700N is a fantastic little router for those on a budget, or if you need to set your parents up with something basic. It may not handle P2P as well as its bigger brother the 7800NL, but if your needs are simple, this is temptation in a...

I must admit I hadn't even heard of Billion before I got this router, but I am quite impressed with it. The wireless signal and sync rate are both very good.

Reasonably priced ... good performance

  by G. M. Sinstadt (amazon.co.uk) - Mär 2012

This is the third router I have used. Its predecessors were acceptable but never totally reliable. Since being installed, the Billion BIPAC has performed admirably. It's been only three weeks or so but so far, so good.

Buy the 7800N if you need range

  by David (amazon.co.uk) - Feb 2012

amazon.co.uk

The 7700N did not have anywhere near enough range for my needs. It barely reached to the next room (old house, stone walls, etc). I was replacing a Belkin N1 which had good range but was not giving a reliable connection. I exchanged the 7700N for the...

Wireless Network Drops

  by NGilbo "nick_gilbert" (amazon.co.uk) - Feb 2012

For no apparent reason, wireless just drops. This issue seems to be prevalent with this router - just look at some of the reviews on other forums. Very disappointed and will return this as soon as possible.

As a wireless router its really good with numerous features and a decent wireless range and I think offers very good value for what it does.
