A tuner that works

  by TrainWreck (newegg.com) - Aug 2011

newegg.com

My ExpressCard slot is 34mm, so there is no problem with fit. I have seen other reviews that seem to find the included adapter for the larger slots aren't as stable as they might be. Just something to keep in mind when considering making a purchase of...

I bought this tuner to increase the capabilities of my laptop and it works quite well. Both Windows Media Center and the Avermedia apps recognize and play bothe analouge and digital tv along with fm radio. I am able to pull in digital station from over...

I haven't run into any yet. This tuner just seems to work

Composite input is trash

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Aug 2011

Easy to install. Image quality seems pretty good... when nothings moving

I mostly use the composite video input to play my PS2 using my laptop's display. Or I would, if not for the flickering black bars that appear whenever the scene changes or there is movement in-game. The flickering bars disappear if the image remains...

excellent hardware, but use WMC

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Jan 2011

I got this for a Toshiba 18.4" laptop with a 1080p screen. Don't use AVerMedia's software -- it's flat and grainy with washed-out colors. The read-me recommends setting the screen to 16-bit color (!) when using the manufacturer's software. And the user...

excellent video and audio quality when using Windows Media Center; capable of picture-in-picture; low-priced; well manufactured; real-time H.264 recording compression; OTA, and digital cable; FM reception

included software is demonstration-quality only; stabilizer spacer easy to lose and doesn't fit snuggly; spacer is colored white but should be black- or grey-toned; coaxial cable attachment easy to snap off; included antenna not suitable for use;...

Awesome Notebook Accessory

  by Tony (newegg.com) - Nov 2010

I'm using a hybrid analog/digital cable feed with my tuner card. Windows 7 Media Center recognizes the the card as two individual tuners and provides a mix of both analog and digital stations in its TV Guide.

Quick, easy setup ; Works flawlessly with Windows Media Center 7 ; Outstanding video quality ; Nice little tote provided for cables, etc ; Stabilizer provided for use in ExpressCard 54 slot

Love it!!

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Sep 2010

newegg.com

All in all, I love it. It does its job, and it does it well. I would definitely recommend this tv tuner.

It is really easy to install, just follow the instructions. Brings in a nice video feed. Works wonderfully with Windows Media center, so I can record numerous shows. I have the capability to play my PS3 on my computer now. Granted it will not be HD,...

It comes with a radio function that I have attempted to figure out once, but could not get it to work. I'm sure if I spent a little more time on it, I could get it working ; Other than that, no other problems, it's worked great, plus it's nice to have...

Great for College

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Aug 2010

newegg.com

Never installed the software. I use this with Windows Media Center and it works flawlessly.

Fits flush in my laptop ; Picks up local HD channels ; Works great in my dorm room. No need to buy a TV

Antenna is worthless but I have cable so it's not that big of a problem

Does what it is supposed to.

  by Elmer (newegg.com) - Aug 2010

I tried the rabbit ears and found no channels. However, I live in the hills where I do not get a TV signal with out cable, so this is not the products fault. I will need to try the rabbit ears somewhere that has a signal.

Seamlessly works with my house cable connection. Found all channels

There is no internal antennae on the card. It is a separate contraption you plug in: tiny rabbit ears, and a coaxial cable connector. These plug into the card using wires

Expected More

  by DiscDog (newegg.com) - Jul 2010

Tired of listening to static.

Fits nice in the express slot

Mess around and move constantly. Feel like I'm trying to tune and old transistor radio. Tried various antennas and input devices and tired of messing with it. I'm not that far from the big city and should receive more hits. FM function not that much...

Works as advertised

  by Ken Hylton (newegg.com) - Mai 2010

Be SURE that your laptop has an ExpressCard slot before you order. A lot of newer ones don't have them, just lots of usb ports.

Works as expected, like that the card is even with slot opening when installed and cable not attached. I can leave it in the laptop all the time

Software that comes with it is not too great. It works fine, but is not very pretty. Suggest you use card with other softare that it's compatible with. Several choices available ; Knoced an egg off bcause of
