Excepting the requirement of a sleepmode I feel it is by all means a good addition for my Mac mini. Storage, stackability and good prices are fair reasons why I would recommend this drive.
Stores a lot, stackable, available at good price, suits Mac Mini like a limb
Sleep mode could have made it still better

Used only the firewire but after the ?apparent? problem (read) with using both, I tried both. Just needed to connect firewire first, establish it's going well and then plug in the usb onto the system and then to another usb (I used a usb 2) disk.
